The detail
How we approach it
New siding shuts out moisture and drafts, and it's the fastest change you can make to how a house looks from the road. We install vinyl, board and batten, and fiber cement, and we do the unglamorous parts underneath — house wrap, furring, and flashing at every window and transition — because that's what decides whether it holds up.
Gutters are the other half. Sized to the roof area, pitched correctly, and tied into downspouts that actually discharge away from the house, they're the difference between a dry basement and a problem that keeps coming back. Undersized gutters on a big roof will overflow no matter how clean they are.
Rotted fascia and blocked soffit vents usually turn up during a siding job. We replace and re-vent them as part of the work instead of siding over a problem.
